I was born in the war-torn country of Vietnam in the late 1960’s. I came to the United States in 1983 as a political refugee. After graduating from Palo Duro High School in 1987, I received an Associate's degree in Pre- Medicine with Honors at Amarillo College in 1989 and graduated summa cum laude from West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1991. At Texas A&M University Health Sciences Center, I continued my medical education and received a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1995. I completed my internal medicine internship and residency at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas in 1998. After residency, I joined Internal Medicine Associates where I practiced for the next seven years before merging with Amarillo Medical Specialists in 2005. My wife Trang and I have four children - two boys and two girls. Being born into a Catholic family, I believe that God’s gift to me is life while my gift to God is healing. Having the privilege to care for you and to make differences in your life has been the most rewarding experience for me. I cannot change the world, but I can hope to make it better. I enjoy classical music, Taekwondo, movies, jogging, and traveling with family and friends.
